This informative 5 hour program provides the training necessary to check for a carotid pulse, provide continued ventilation and use both flow-restricted manually triggered oxygen powered resuscitators (MTRs) and bag valve masks (BVMs).
Participant must have a current DAN Oxygen provider certification as this course is an extension program and not a stand alone course.
Topics covered include: recognition of an injury or illness and the benefits of oxygen provision, checking for signs of life (including the carotid pulse), review of potential complications with artificial ventilation, hazards and precautions when using oxygen, use of MTRs and use of BVMs.
This course includes: 5 hours of theory lecture and skills training, registration, certification with lamination, use of training aids and consumables (Laerdal manikin, DAN oxygen unit, MTR, BVM...), personal DAN student handbook, personal non-rebreather mask and personal Laerdal pocket mask. |
